Privacy Policy

This site is a personal portfolio. It has no forms, no accounts and no analytics. This page explains the little information that still reaches me or my service providers when you visit, and what you can ask me to do with it.

What I Collect

Information you give me

  • Email. If you write to me, I receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. I use it to reply.
  • Call bookings. If you book a discovery call, Cal.com collects the details you enter on the booking form, such as your name, email address and any notes, and gives them to me so I can hold the call.

Information collected automatically

  • Hosting logs. Vercel hosts this site. Like any host, it processes your IP address and basic details of each request, such as the page, your browser and the time, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
  • Booking calendar. The Work With Me page embeds the Cal.com booking calendar. It loads when the page opens, whether or not you book, so Cal.com receives your IP address and browser details. In my testing it also sets a short-lived Cloudflare bot-detection cookie (__cf_bm, about 30 minutes), saves a booking-slot ID in your browser's local storage, and sends error reports to its error-tracking provider, Sentry. What Cal.com collects is up to Cal.com and can change, so see its policy below.
  • Theme choice. The site saves your light or dark theme in your own browser. It stays on your device and is not sent to me.

I do not run analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking on this site, and I do not set tracking cookies of my own.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other sites, such as YouTube, GitHub, LinkedIn and the course sites I teach from. Once you follow a link, that site's own policy applies.

How I Use It

  • To reply to your email.
  • To hold a call you booked and, if we work together, to run the work.
  • To keep the site working and free of abuse.

I only email you about what you asked for. I do not sell your information.

Who Else Handles It

I consult through Clearbound Consulting, and the services and booking calendar on the Work With Me page go through it. Its own site has a privacy policy. Beyond that, these providers handle information for me, only to provide their service:

  • Vercel hosts this website.
  • Cal.com runs the booking calendar on the Work With Me page.

I may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How Long I Keep It

I keep emails and booking details for as long as the conversation or working relationship needs them, and delete them sooner if you ask. Vercel and Cal.com keep the data they collect for the periods set in their own policies.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email ygilany@clearboundconsulting.com and I will answer within 30 days. For anything Vercel or Cal.com holds from your visit, contact them as well, using the links above.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, I handle your information because it is in my legitimate interest to answer you and keep the site secure, and to take steps you ask for before a booking. You can object to that handling, ask for a copy of your data, and complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you can ask what personal information I have about you and ask me to delete it. I do not sell or share personal information.

Do Not Track

I do not track visitors across other websites, so I treat everyone the same whether or not a browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Where Your Information Goes

I am based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and my service providers process information in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If I change what I collect or who handles it, I will update this page and the date at the top.
